also, an update

1. Amendment: Apple fritters and hickies don't make everything better, but they're a nice start.
2. More specifically: engaging in an act of making something delicious (if I am merely sad and not also exhausted) will always cheer me up. This is the instant-gratification version of "using one's hands to make something beautiful."
3. Things that also help: G. singing "Kiss" at karaoke; In-n-Out burgers in Fairfield; lemonade, pumpkins, pistachio orchards, and sun-warmed strawberries in Yolo County.
4. I was too overwhelmed by the cheese last night at
gordonzola's birthday party to have even a bite. Honest. I would be sadder if I hadn't gone to Rainbow the day before to buy some cheese for myself. I did manage some cake, though.
5. And I haven't even mentioned BLTs, then burlesque on Friday. Too much fun. I got to see a co-worker and a friend perform, and meet an LJ person in person, and dance a little, and see very large men freeball it in dirndl skirts, and, and, and...
6. Speaking of which, thank you
roughandtumble for not making said co-worker throw spitballs at me.
7. For some reason, the Ferry Plaza farmer's market was very zooish and unpleasant this weekend. (All I wanted was some olive oil, man!) And filled with very young, inconsiderate people. This made me sad. But the unexpected run-in helped a lot. Also, at one of the stands, the crew was bouncing around to the sound of the Misfits, and this also cheered me up immensely.
8. Fritzi thinks every weekend should have a nap, and scolded me for not taking one.
9. I didn't write, but I did outline.
10. So, I have two pumpkins now. When shall I carve them? Want to help? Want to come over? Any design suggestions?
