Jul. 6th, 2004 11:19 amI do have one minor critique of Spiderman 2, though.
I'm happy to ignore the implausible fusion science -- this is a movie based on a comic book, after all. But if you're going to treat the mini-sun fusion reaction as just a big fireball, when you drop it into the river to "drown"/quench it, there should be more steam. All I am asking for is more steam. A big ball of steam. Gouts and gouts of dramtically-lit steam. It would make everything at the end all romantic and hazy and humid, too, as a bonus.

Date: 2004-07-06 04:51 pm (UTC)although there were some monologues that were just *begging* to not be there. like, what the hell was otto octavius doing offering love advice to some shlub who he'd just met?
oh, i'm just being hypercritical. i loved it. and cried. twice. but don't tell anyone.
i don't think all the greatness was michael chabon. mark millar wrote part of it (i think under his movie pen-name, miles millar), and he has some genuinely great moments of dialogue in his comic books...
