Somehow I went to Ferry Plaza for lunch today and managed to avoid buying anything except my lunch! Even the truffle honey that I presume is a close relative of the delicious stuff I had on Sunday. Not to mention all the pretty-smelling soaps.

I am in the market for honey, btw. Anything but Greek thyme honey. Lay it on me -- anyone have favorites, recommendations?

I'm a honey slut. :) I think at the very least I could use a good dark honey, and a light sweet honey too.

if you can find buckwheat honey it's almost black sometimes. also if you like the truffle stuff, try chestnut honey-- also very strong.

(btw truffle oil is a manufactured scent, a perfume, not a flavor derived from a natural source.)

I have a whole rant on truffle oil, actually, that my loved ones have been privy to more than once.

But that doesn't change the fact that I was distinctly enamoured of the stuff at the party. Maybe it will be a dirty, shameful affair between us. Maybe you will find me someday in dirty clothes, hair unwashed, with a glazed look in my eye and honey smeared on the corners of my mouth. I know she's a painted lady, but she's still pretty sweet.
